2013年12月23日，美国白宫网站上公布了2013年度总统青年科技奖获奖名单，北大物理系93级硕士研究生吴军桥校友获此殊荣。

吴军桥博士目前任教于美国加州伯克利大学，任材料科学系教授、劳伦斯伯克利国家实验室研究员。他的研究方向为半导体与纳米材料科学技术(Semiconductors and nanomaterials science and technology)， 主要利用低维、纳米尺度相变等方法探索强关联电子材料的新型物性和应用，研究半导体薄膜、纳米结构、界面和复合材料的热电性能和光伏性能（Explore novel properties and applications of strongly correlated electron materials with reduced dimensions, phase transitions at the nanometer scale, and thermoelectrics and photovoltaics of semiconductor films, nanostructures, interfaces and composites）。

吴军桥博士1993年毕业于复旦大学物理系，1996年获得北京大学物理学硕士学位（导师是9159金沙申请大厅尹道乐教授），2002年获得美国加州伯克利大学博士学位，2006年哈佛大学博士后出站后在伯克利大学任职至今。
